Every adult in the UK can now book a life-saving COVID vaccine as we enter the final stretch in our race to protect the country and fully return to normality.
Vaccines are our route out of the pandemic - vaccinated people are less likely to get COVID-19 symptoms, be admitted to hospital or die from the disease, and there is growing evidence that vaccinated people are less likely to pass the virus on to others. That is why it is vital for everyone who has not done so yet to come forward and get their jab, so we can build on the continued success of our historic vaccine programme - which has saved more than 14,000 lives so far as part of this remarkable national effort to protect the country.
Thanks to the heroic efforts of our NHS, armed forces and countless volunteers, we are now approaching the final stretch in our race to vaccinate – so when you get the call, get the jab. We have administered a total of over 74.3 million vaccine doses across the UK, with over 42.9 million people across the UK now having received their first dose and over 31.3 million people having received their second dose.
When invited, people will be able to book at one of the 1,600 Vaccination Centre, pharmacy or general practice sites across the country that are available through the national booking service. Vaccination centres are also available in convenient locations such as mosques, museums and rugby grounds.
Text invitations appear as an alert from ‘NHSvaccine’ and include a web link to the NHS website to reserve an appointment. To book or manage your coronavirus vaccination, please visit: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/. People who cannot go online can call the service on 119 instead to book their jab.
People aged 39 and under who are eligible and pregnant women will be offered the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine in line with updated JCVI guidance.

Leading social media platforms unite to support COVID-19 vaccine drive
The Government is partnering with some of the world’s biggest social media platforms to encourage users to get vaccinated - as our historic vaccine programme continues at an unprecedented pace and scale.
Vaccines are our route out of the pandemic, and with every adult in England now being offered their first dose, we are doing everything we can to encourage people to come forward for their jab. That is why the Government is partnering with some of the most influential social media platforms with young people including Snapchat, Reddit, TikTok, and YouTube to support the vaccination programme by encouraging their users to get coronavirus (COVID-19) jabs. The social media platforms will help us drive uptake, from hosting Q&A sessions with medical experts to introducing filters that will allow users to show their support for the vaccine on their accounts. The activity supports the NHS ‘every vaccination gives us hope’ campaign encouraging younger people to get their vaccine and join the millions of people who have already received their jabs.
The Government has also developed a toolkit with content designed to be shared via WhatsApp and Facebook community groups, as well as Twitter, YouTube and Instagram, to tackle false information about the vaccine.
The case for getting vaccinated is clear, so we are urging everyone when you get the call, get the jab, so together we can keep each other and our loved ones safe.

Deliveroo to boost Government efforts to tackle variants of concern
The Government has a new partnership with Deliveroo to raise awareness of local surge testing, supporting our efforts to test as many people as possible, so that together we can defeat this virus.
As the phenomenal progress of our vaccination programme continues, we are using every tool at our disposal to stop the spread of new variants by offering twice-weekly tests for all and expanding local surge testing. That is why the Government has announced a new partnership with Deliveroo, who will notify customers through their app and website to let them know if surge testing is happening in their area, allowing us to reach even more of the public and test as many people as possible.
This new tool means that notifications will be visible to customers using the Deliveroo app in areas where the new COVID-19 variant is known to be spreading fastest. This will include areas where surge testing is being offered by the local authority, including areas where additional support packages are in place, including for testing, tracing and self-isolation.
Messages will be displayed to customers after the checkout stage of placing their order on the app, and they will be advised to visit their local authority’s website to find out more information on where surge testing is being offered in the area. The Deliveroo app banner will also link to the Government’s website with more information on how people can get tested.
Deliveroo reaches over 60% of the UK population, including areas where surge testing is deployed. The delivery company works with 50,000 riders and 44,000 restaurants across the UK. During the course of the pandemic it has delivered a million free meals to NHS workers and vulnerable groups.
In addition to surge testing, the Government is providing further support packages to stop the spread of the Delta variant which includes tracing, isolation support and maximising vaccine uptake. This has been rapidly deployed across areas including Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire.
