The Castle Point Social Car Scheme is 25 years old!

It was a pleasure to join them for their recent anniversary celebrations and to pay tribute to the volunteers and staff that help provide this fantastic service for local residents.

The organisation was set up in 1999 to provide affordable transport for older residents. It has wheelchair accessible vehicles to help meet the transport needs of less able bodied residents and has almost 1000 clients on its books.

They are on the lookout for more volunteers to help serve local residents, particularly volunteer drivers. So if you are looking to give something back to the community and can spare the time, please do get in touch with them.
