At Conservative Party Conference 2024, Rebecca Harris MP visited the Backing British Farming stand and has pledged her support for British farmers, recognising the importance of agricultural businesses to our economy, our food security and to serving the nation.

British farming contributes £127 billion to the UK economy and it is vital that we protect this industry and our nation’s food security. That is why the previous Conservative Government maintained the annual farming budget in England at £2.4 billion per year in the last Parliament and developed our Environmental Land Management Schemes, Sustainable Farming Incentive and grants such as the Farming Innovation Programme.

Rebecca commented: “I was pleased to visit the British Farming stand at Conference. Labour’s manifesto included only 87 words about farming and their lack of care for this important sector is clear. It is vital that the Government supports our fantastic British farmers to ensure that the sector can thrive.”
