I had a lovely time visiting St Margaret’s Church in Bowers Gifford for their Patronal Festival today.
There were great games for kids, tombola, a BBQ, and lovely tea and cake. The knitted crafts on display were excellent. The knitted cakes in particular genuinely looked good enough to eat!
There was also a wonderful history exhibition on the church and history of Bowers Gifford and North Benfleet.
I had been outside in the church grounds before to visit the war graves but this was my first time actually inside. The church is full of history, detailed all around on the plaques, paintings and tapestries. It’s well worth a visit if you have never been.
Thank you to all the volunteers who gave up their time to organise the event for the community.
I look forward to the next one.
