Yesterday, Rebecca attended the opening of a brand-new teaching and activity block at Cedar Hall School.
The building work for the ‘Braithwaite Block’, which was named after the hard-working Chair of the School Governors, took place over the summer holidays.
Rebecca Commented: “I came to visit the block whilst it was being built in the six-week holidays and it was lovely to come back and see it full of happy pupils and staff. It is clearly a big hit, even with the school's chickens who left their coop next door to try and join us on our tour!”
The new block is a £4million Government investment administered by Essex County Council and it replaces a number of temporary classrooms. The new block is entirely carbon neutral and includes solar panels on the roof to cut the school's energy bills. This project is a part of our commitment to consistently improving education in Castle Point.
A massive well done to everyone involved and delivering and funding the project.
