Earlier this week Rebecca Harris attended Pitching In and Entain’s reception to celebrate the Pitching In programme and investment in grassroots football.
Launched in 2020, when football clubs were facing the unprecedented impact on their finances due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Pitching In is Entain’s multi-million-pound investment programme designed to support and promote grassroots sports. It has a flagship partnership with the Isthmian, Northern Premier and Southern Leagues, known as the Trident Leagues, which collectively have 248 clubs and over 15,000 registered players nationwide – and includes Castle Point’s Canvey Island FC and Concord Rangers FC. Pitching In supports these clubs through a combination of grant funding and by helping clubs recruit volunteers through the Pitching In Hub.
The reception featured remarks from English professional football manager and Pitching In Ambassador Stuart Pearce.
Rebecca Harris MP Commented:
“As a proud supporter of grassroots football, I was delighted to celebrate the Pitching In programme and see the amazing support they do to help grassroots clubs, such as Camden Town WFC who were in attendance.
“Locally, it is fantastic to see that Pitching In supports the Trident Leagues, including our local clubs Canvey Island FC and Concord Rangers FC!”
