This weekend, Rebecca visited the newly refurbished Tea Rooms at the Salvation Army Hadleigh Training Centre on the Hadleigh Farm Estate.
The training centre provides work based training for people with learning difficulties and others with the aim of helping them gain employment in our community. Trainees gain catering, customer service and business administration skills through working in the Tea Rooms. It has recently been remodelled and refurbished and is now open to the public.
Rebecca and local Councillor Jacqui Thornton met several of the trainees who work at there and it was good to hear about their journeys from helping designing the look of the Tea Rooms, to their experiences learning all the skills required to run both front of house and back office operations.
Rebecca commented: "The food was delicious, the welcome was warm and the setting, overlooking the farm and the Castle, is beautiful. I definitely recommend it for a quiet cup of tea and slice of cake or a lovely freshly prepared lunch."
