Castle Point MP Rebecca Harris has welcomed the news from the Mid & South Essex NHS Trust that a new X-ray machine is due to be installed in the Central Canvey Primary Care Centre at the Paddocks by the end of July.
Since the X-ray machine at the NHS clinic on Long Road broke down, Rebecca has been supporting a campaign by local residents to lobby the NHS for a replacement machine on Canvey so Castle Point residents don’t have to travel to Basildon or Southend hospital for X-rays.
Speaking on the news Rebecca said:
“This is positive news that residents have waited a long time for. I have been lobbying the local NHS to get a replacement service in place since the previous machine broke down and I am pleased that a brand-new machine is now being installed on Canvey once again. The new machine should mean appointments are quicker and easier to access thanks to the parking spaces at the Paddocks. I am very pleased that the wait is almost over.
"Now they have a date for the replacement to be installed, I will keep on liaising with the NHS Trust so they do all they can to stick to this timescale and get services up and running as soon as possible."
