Essex County Fire and Rescue Service are currently recruiting ‘whole time’ and ‘retained’ (on call) firefighters across Essex. Our brave local firefighters do a vital job keeping us safe and responding to local emergencies.

Rebecca Harris said: "I recently spoke to some of the retained firefighters at Canvey Fire Station at a local event. It was great to see the clear sense of pride they have in their role and to hear about how much they enjoy the camaraderie that comes from part of being a professional team in the business of keeping their community safe."
