Rebecca Harris is supporting the race to eliminate cervical cancer.
The NHS has the ambition to eliminate cervical cancer in the UK by 2040. MSD has launched the 'Race to Elimination' campaign to showcase local areas on the road to cervical cancer elimination, and inspire country-wide action of the NHS England elimination pledge.
99.8% of cervical cancer cases are entirely preventable, providing a unique opportunity – through Human Papillomavirus vaccination and cervical screening – to eliminate the impact of this disease on women, their families and society.
Rebecca commented:
"It is important that to ensure that you are vaccinated and screened for cervical cancer to prevent its spread. Thank you to MSD for launching this campaign and hosting this event in Parliament to raise awareness about the need to eliminate this cancer. This was a great way to finish off my January, which is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month".
If you were invited for cervical screening but missed or did not book an appointment, you can contact your GP surgery or local sexual health clinic to book now. You can still book even if you were invited weeks or months ago.
