Today, as our successful EU Settlement Scheme closes for applications, the Government is calling on all those who have not yet applied to act now and secure their status.

We want our European friends, family, colleagues and neighbours living and working in the UK to stay and get the status they deserve.

Since we launched our EU Settlement Scheme in 2019, over 5.6 million applications have been received to secure EU citizens’ rights, but as applications close today, we are urging everyone who has yet to apply to do so now – and will take a pragmatic approach where people need to make a late application.

The success of our scheme demonstrates our continued commitment to safeguard the position of our friends and neighbours, which is why we are now calling on everyone not to delay and apply today.
