This weekend marks the 83rd anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
The Bay Museum has a fantastic exhibition at the Canvey Heritage Centre about the Battle of Britain, complete with lots of local finds from battles in the skies above Castle Point and wider South Essex.
Rebecca's personal favourites were the two browning machine guns from downed Hurricanes that are preserved in truly remarkable condition.
We owe much of the freedom we enjoy today to the brave men who took part in the Battle of Britain all those years ago to keep fascism from our shores. It is important we remember them and are able to learn about the challenge they faced. It was really good to see young people there enjoying the exhibition with their families. Rebecca would like to give a massive thank you to all the volunteers who made it possible.
