Cadent are continuing with the next phase of their £3.4 million investment into making the ageing gas mains network around Castle Point more resilient and future ready. A few summers ago we suffered a string of emergency gas works across the Borough and Rebecca Harris made it clear Cadent need to invest more in the network to prevent it from happening again and these works should cut down on the chances of more emergency works on our main roads in the future.
Rebecca commented: "The key to this is planning and letting residents know in good time. We cannot have another repeat of what happened on Long Road on Canvey last week! I made sure that Cadent sat down with the local Essex County Councillor around a table to plan the works and make sure every effort is made to keep traffic flowing around the Borough as much as possible while the major works take place."
Attached are the plans Cadent have sent Rebecca for the project. Please make sure you look at them and start planning ahead for any day-to-day journeys that may be effected now.
The most disruptive works are likely to be the works on Essex Way by the Anchor mini-roundabout taking place 30th March - 14th April as traffic coming on and off Canvey via Ferry Road will be effected.
Cadent have said they will be posting updates on their dedicated webpage, https://cadentgas.com/benfleet-canveyisland , and would encourage residents to call their customer care centre on 0800 085 4478 or email [email protected] any time should you have any queries or concerns about the projects.
